Programs

We are here to support first responders and veterans who have served us.

Home Repair Program

Purpose: To provide home repair services and accessibility modifications for veterans and emergency responders in Oklahoma. The goal of the TFCU Foundation is to keep veterans in their homes longer by helping ensure the home is safe and accessible.

Vision: To serve veterans and their families by guiding them in their understanding of the home repairs needed and to assist them as they navigate through programs designed to support them in their homes.

The foundation’s focus will be to connect the veteran and their family with the right program or contractor to fulfill their needs. This may include:

  • Coordinating or completing the repairs.
  • Repairing or replacing appliances needed for self-sufficient living.
  • Providing relocation assistance if the situation cannot be repaired or remedied quickly.
  • Providing special accommodations for veterans living with trauma.

Shield and Service Grant

Purpose: The Shield and Service grant connects veterans with the services they need and supports mental wellness initiatives for first responders. We assist organizations that support veterans in starting new programs and addressing unfunded program needs, as well as organizations that work to support mental health for first responders. We aim to remove obstacles for those near the poverty level.

Considerations for applicants:

  • Funds awarded are year-over-year. We do not fund multi-year grants or capital campaigns.
  • For new or start-up organizations, we kindly request that you do not apply until you have a completed Form 990 on file, reflecting at least one year of your organization’s operations.
  • Must be a registered 501(c) 3 in Oklahoma.
